La Spinetta Barolo Campe 2006

La Spinetta Barolo Campé is a complex and majestic Barolo from one of Piedmont's most celebrated producers. The 2006 vintage shows classic Barolo character: aromas of rose, tar, dried cherry, and dark spice, with a solid, harmonious tannic structure and a full, mighty finish. Maceration and alcoholic fermentation take place in temperature-controlled vats over 14-15 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels — 20% new, the remainder in second-passage barrels — and 24 months of aging, then a further 12 months in bottle before release. A powerful, age-worthy Barolo built for the cellar.
