La Forge de Tart 2022

La Forge de Tart is the second wine of Domaine du Clos de Tart, Burgundy's storied Grand Cru monopole in Morey-Saint-Denis, owned in its entirety since 1141. Sourced from younger vines and select declassified parcels, La Forge de Tart offers a more accessible entry into the estate's meticulous, biodynamic winemaking philosophy while still reflecting its signature purity and precision.

The 2022 vintage shows bright red cherry, wild strawberry, and violet aromas, with a supple, elegant palate, fine tannins, and lively acidity. Approachable earlier than the Grand Cru itself, it's an excellent introduction to the Clos de Tart style and a lovely bottle for near-term drinking, with a few years of graceful development ahead.
