Messorio, first produced in 1994, began as a personal challenge to craft a bold and impactful Merlot, distinct from the soft, predictable styles often associated with the variety. Grown in the renowned Bolgheri region, the aim was to create a wine with a strong personality, a "thoroughbred eager to win the race." The name "Messorio" refers to the wheat harvest, symbolizing an essential part of the agricultural cycle.
