Chateau D'Yquem 2023

Château d'Yquem is the most celebrated Sauternes estate in the world, and the only Premier Cru Supérieur of the 1855 Classification. The 2023, rated 100 points by both Robert Parker's Wine Advocate and James Suckling, ranks among the finest wines made under Lorenzo Pasquini's direction. With 153 grams per liter of residual sugar, it is among the ten most concentrated vintages in the château's history.

Nose: pure and dense, with stewed rhubarb, lilac and citrus, lifted by cedar and beeswax.
Palate: smooth and enveloping with an almond-like texture, unfolding apricot, Agen prune and mandarin marmalade before a long, savory finish. Lively acidity keeps all that concentration fresh rather than heavy.

Pairing: pan-seared foie gras, an apricot tart, or Roquefort.
