Domaine Georges Vernay Condrieu Les Chaillees de l'Enfer 2022

Known as the "King of Condrieu," Georges Vernay brought global recognition to this small appellation in the 1950s. Today, his daughter Christine continues the legacy, crafting world-class wines from steep, hand-tended vineyards. Les Chaillées de l’Enfer comes from a two-hectare south-facing plot of old Viognier vines planted in 1957 on granite terraces, cultivated without herbicides or insecticides.

Les Chaillées de l’Enfer 2022 is a standout Condrieu—floral, spicy, and vibrant. Aromas of white peach, pear, citrus, mint, and almond blossom lead into a rich, silky palate with saline tension and freshness. Aged in oak (25% new) for up to 18 months with regular bâtonnage, it’s powerful yet elegant. Drink now or cellar through 2044.
