Château Pavie Macquin was founded in the 19th century by Albert Macquin, the man who introduced grafted vines to France in order to save the country's vineyards from the destruction caused by phylloxera. Today, the estate still belongs to the descendants of Albert Macquin. This Premier Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion is an essential reference of the appellation and is one of the greatest wines in the world.
